A brief History









Harry Armstrong was first established and set up shop in Adelaide Terrace in Perth. The business initially offered a broad range of services, which included plumbing supplies, sheet metal works, bell hanging and general maintenance services.

The business expanded and relocated to 79 William Street, Perth

Harry Armstrong relocated to James Street in Northbridge

Harry Armstrong became more prominently known as a locksmith, but he was also a gun manufacturer in the export trade. The business was now located on Murray Street.

Harry Armstrong retired and sold his business to two employees who had originally started their apprenticeship within the company.

Norman Kane joined Harry Armstrong and is still a Senior Locksmith in the company today.

Two of the current employees of Harry Armstrong started their careers as apprentices with the Company – Craig Corless (Operations Manager) and Mark Hollings (Sales Manager).

Due to continued growth the business moved to larger premises at 506-508 Murray Street. The team is now made up of 11 employees including 7 licensed locksmiths. Harry Armstrong began as a family business and continues to operate as a family run business to this day.

Craig Corless (Operations manager), Helen Montgomery (Admin Manager), Norman Kane (Locksmith), Daniel Corless (locksmith) and Kristian Montgomery (Finance) are all relatives of the owners who purchased the business from Harry Armstrong in the 1950s.

Our Team

Donald Montgomery

Managing Director

Donald purchased the Harry Armstrong business back in 2010. Don brings with him 30 years experience in mining and construction, both domestically & internationally.

Craig Corless

Operations Manager

Craig started his apprenticeship with Harry Armstrong back in 1982 as a second generation employee. He is a member of the Master Locksmith Association and the ANZLA.

Mark Hollings

Sales Manager

Mark started his apprenticeship with Harry Armstrong in 1982. He is a member of the Master Locksmith Association (MLA),  Security and Construction Equipment Committee endorsed (SCEC) and SALTO accredited.

Norman Kane

Senior Manager

Norman has been with the company since 1965 when he first started his apprenticeship.  with Harry Armstrong in 1965 and been with the company His father was one of the owners who purchased the business from Harry Armstrong in the 1950s.

Joshua Corless

Senior Locksmith

Joshua joined the team in 2012 as a third generation locksmith with Harry Armstrong, and is a highly experienced locksmith with x years experience.

Dylan Churchill


Dylan is part of our skilled team of locksmiths. He joined Harry Armstrong in 2014.

Dean Vuksanovic


Dean joined our dedicated locksmith team in 2017.

Daniel Corless


A third Generation locksmith with Harry Armstrong, Daniel joined the team in 2017.

Catriona Tucker

Team Scheduler

Catriona recently joined the team in 2018 and is responsible for coordinating all the projects with our skilled locksmiths.

Helen Montgomery


Helen joined Harry Armstong in 2010 as a second generation employee, and keeps the office running smoothly looking after the day to day administration.

Kristian Montgomery


Kristian is a third generation employee who joined the company in 2015 and looks after all of the company’s financials.
